Joining our community

We hope that if you’re looking for top-class early years education and care for your child, you will consider that you’ve found it at Young Friends Kindergarten. If it sounds like a place where your child will thrive, we invite you to contact us, arrange a visit and talk to us to find out more.

If you decide that you’d like your child, and you, to join our community, and there is a place available, we’ll be delighted to welcome you.

Young Friends Kindergarten is a different kind of nursery, and our values, along with our mission to create sustainable citizens, are at the heart of everything we do, from our curriculum to our menu, and our commitment to a disposables-free nursery.

So we do expect our families to adopt our ethos.

We obviously don’t expect you to do everything at home the same way as we do at kindergarten (though we’re delighted when our children tell us that they are making sustainable changes at home too!), but we do expect every child to follow our approach to sustainability when they are here – like following a plant-based diet and wearing washable nappies.

Parent/Carer code of conduct

It also means that we ask you to commit to working with us in the way that we do things. We do things differently from most other Early Years settings, and our methods are based on trusted educational principles. We ask every family to sign up to our Parent/Carer code of conduct, which details what we expect of you as part of our community.

We’re always happy to receive your feedback and ideas, of course!

When you visit us, we’ll talk you through in detail what to expect, and answer any questions you might have about what to expect when your child, and your family, joins our community.
