Policies & Key Information
Our commitment to safeguarding, high standards and respectful practice.
Our policies reflect how we work, not just what we’re required to do. They cover our commitment to safeguarding, communication and the high standards we hold ourselves to, and they’re available to all families.
Our Approach
Our policies are not separate from our practice. They run through how we work with children, families and staff every day.
We prioritise:
safeguarding and wellbeing
honest, respectful relationships
clear, consistent communication
high standards, every single day

How we keep children safe, and how any concern is handled and reported.

How we identify, assess and manage risk while supporting children to assess challenges with appropriate guidance.
Food & Nutrition Policy
Our commitment to fully plant-based menu that supports healthy growth and positive relationships with food.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is not a policy we refer to occasionally. It shapes how every member of our team works, every day.
All staff:
hold current safeguarding training
understand their responsibilities clearly
act on concerns without hesitation
We maintain a culture where children are listened to and protected at all times.

Accessing Full Policies
Our full policies and procedures are shared with families through Famly, our communication platform. This keeps information current, consistent and easy to find once your child is with us.
If you’d like to see a specific policy before joining, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to share it.

Support and Questions
If you have any questions about our policies or procedures, we are always happy to help.
Clear, open communication is an important part of how we work with families.
Life at Young Friends
Here you’ll find writing about the things that matter to us: how children learn, what they eat, and why we do things the way we do. Whether you’re new to Young Friends or already part of our community, there’s plenty to explore.
